The Flagler County Democratic Black Caucus is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion in all dimensions of civic governance, with a specific focus on identifying and supporting black democratic candidates, appointed officials, and elected officials.
Our mission is to increase the number of black elected and appointed public servants in Flagler County and Florida by increasing black voter participation in local, county and state elections. In addition, we strive to improve social, economic, and political awareness across all voting populations through advocacy, education, and outreach activities.
VOTING IS THE KEY TO LIVABLE COMMUNITIES
Flagler County is a cultural melting pot and that makes it a great place to live. Despite our cultural diversity, we share a common responsibility to build livable, enjoyable, and affordable communities in which to live. We can do that by voting in our local and state elections and then supporting our local, county and state elected and appointed officials.

Our purpose.
What we do
Carl Jones, President of the Flagler County Democratic Black Caucus says: To encourage nonvoters to vote, the Flagler County Black Caucus will organize community events and voter registration drives to educate people on the importance of voting. We will also collaborate with local candidates to ensure that our issues and concerns are being addressed, and create a voter guide to help people understand the issues and candidates on the ballot. Additionally, we will reach out to community members directly and provide information on how to register to vote and where to find polling places. By engaging with the community and raising awareness about the importance of voting, the Flagler County Black Caucus can help empower more people to exercise their right to vote and make their voices heard.
About Us
Clyde Jones, the Flagler County Democratic Party State Committeeman, recognized the low voter turnout among minorities in Flagler County and saw the need for a Black Caucus. To address this issue, Clyde contacted the state Black Caucus and arranged to start a chapter in Flagler County. A year later, the Flagler Caucus has grown to over 42 members, who are working together to encourage more people from the minority community to participate in the political process.
